Letter to the Church from The E.C. Bylaws related to Pastor search Dear FBC family, When I became your pastor 11 years ago, I said that my highest calling is to Jesus Christ. As He has led me, I have led you. I have sought to be like Paul who said, “Copy me as I copy Christ.” (1 Corinthians 11:1). We all know that our ultimate model and highest calling is Christ. My greatest hope has always been to point you to Christ alone. As a result, you have pursued Him like no congregation I’ve ever seen. You’ve decided together that we will spend our time, energy, and resources on His mission in the world. You have determined that what’s “core” is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and you have decided that if it is not core, it will not divide us. Because of this, the Spirit of God has had freedom to move in and through FBC in amazing ways. You are truly touching Collin County and the world with the love of Christ. I believe that the very best days for FBC are ahead. I will be forever grateful for your love and the humble privilege I was given to lead and serve you. I will continue to pray as I have prayed from the day I arrived, Ephesians 3:14-21. My hope is that you would know how wide and long and deep is the love of Christ for you. On behalf of Stacy, Whitney, Emily, and Travis, thank you for loving our Savior so much, for loving us, and for serving Him so faithfully through our years together. Our hearts are broken over leaving you but we are certain that God is calling us. The call of Christ on our lives is supreme. What a wonderful journey is ahead for us all. Lead on, o’ King Eternal. With deepest love and respect, Jeff
